Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service to host free open day

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has announced a free public open day at its Service Headquarters in Clyst St George. The event is scheduled for Sunday, September 6, from 10am to 4pm.

Attendees will have access to behind-the-scenes looks at the service, including guided tours of fire appliances and emergency service demonstrations. The day will feature activities focused on fire prevention, road safety, and incident response. Visitors can also consult with firefighters and prevention officers for practical safety advice regarding home, road, and outdoor environments.

In addition to educational demonstrations, the event will include live music, food, and activity stalls. The open day also serves as a fundraiser for The Fire Fighters Charity, an organization that supports serving and retired members of UK fire services and their families.
