Devon coastal habitats protected using repurposed bodyboards
The Environment Agency is repurposing discarded bodyboards to support the protection of coastal habitats in Devon. Collected from Household Waste Recycling Centres managed by SUEZ, these boards are being used by researchers to navigate intertidal mudflats during surveys.
The boards provide a stable surface for transporting equipment and moving through soft mud, particularly in areas like the Salcombe and Yealm estuaries.
