Devon & Cornwall Police arrest seven for suspected drug driving

Devon & Cornwall Police arrested seven individuals for suspected drug driving following an unauthorised music event at Avon Dam in the South Brent area. Officers conducted proactive checks as attendees were leaving the site to prevent drink and drug driving offences.

During the operation, one driver was arrested after failing a roadside drug wipe test and was found to have no insurance or tax. Six additional drivers subsequently failed roadside drug tests and were taken into custody for blood sample analysis. All suspects have been released pending toxicology results. Police also recovered a quantity of drugs during the incident.
