Devon County Council promotes resilience fund amid energy price rise
Devon County Council is promoting its Crisis and Resilience Fund to assist residents facing financial difficulties. The initiative comes ahead of an announced 4% rise in the energy price cap by regulator Ofgem, which is expected to increase the average annual bill for households on standard variable tariffs by approximately £60 starting in October.
The fund targets low-income households experiencing sudden hardships, such as unexpected bills or drops in income. It aims to provide practical support for essential costs like energy, food, and housing, while helping residents access advice to improve long-term financial wellbeing. The scheme is delivered through district councils and Citizens Advice Devon, and payments do not impact benefit entitlements.
