Devon faces yellow wind warning for Friday
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Devon and other parts of southern England and Wales, effective from midnight to midday on Friday. Strong west to northwesterly winds are expected, with gusts potentially reaching 50-60 mph. In some coastal or exposed areas, wind speeds could exceed 70 mph.
Heavy rain is also forecast, which may complicate travel. While winds are expected to ease from late morning into the early afternoon, there are risks of flying debris, damage to buildings, and potential power cuts. Disruptions to road, rail, air, and ferry services are possible, and coastal areas may face danger from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts.
