Devon planning applications submitted for housing and agri-business developments

Rosecroft Homes Limited has submitted a new planning application to Teignbridge Council to convert the western half of the former Dunmore Care Home in Newton Abbot into a house of multiple occupancy (HMO). The proposal for 30 Courtenay Road involves transforming the three-storey building into 13 single-occupancy rooms with shared facilities, alongside a smaller five-bedroom HMO on the lower ground floor. The company describes the site as a ‘redundant former nursing home’ and aims to provide accommodation for professionals and key workers. A decision is expected by October 5.

In a separate development, a planning application for the Holsworthy Agri-Business Centre has been submitted to Torridge District Council. The proposal seeks full permission for access, highways infrastructure, and landscaping, while requesting outline planning approval for the agricultural business buildings. If approved, the multi-million pound project could see the construction of seven industrial buildings of varying sizes near Holsworthy Market. The hybrid application approach is intended to secure necessary infrastructure while providing a framework to attract third-party investment for future employment development.
