Devon road closures to cause diversions for drivers

Devon County Council has announced temporary traffic orders that will result in road closures and diversions across several locations in Mid Devon. The restrictions are scheduled to take place between late August and late September 2026.

The works affect routes in North Bovey, Witheridge, and Copplestone, specifically within the EX16 and EX17 postcode areas. These closures are necessary to facilitate utility and highway improvements, including duct installation in North Bovey, cable diversion near Witheridge, and drainage enhancements at Copplestone.

While through traffic will be prohibited on the affected sections, signed diversions will be in place. Access for local residents, businesses, and emergency services will be managed on-site by work teams where safety permits.
