Devon Witherspoon agrees to record $132 million Seahawks extension

The Seattle Seahawks and cornerback Devon Witherspoon have agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $132 million. The deal includes $101 million in guaranteed money and an average annual value of $33 million, making Witherspoon the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history.

Reports indicate that negotiations between the Seahawks and Witherspoon’s agent, WinSports Group, were heated in the days leading up to the agreement. The 25-year-old, who was selected fifth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, has earned three consecutive Pro Bowl selections and was a key contributor to the Seahawks’ recent Super Bowl victory.

This extension follows a similar high-value deal for Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who signed a four-year, $168.8 million contract earlier this year. The significant investment underscores the team's commitment to its core young talent.
