DeVonta Smith Hamstring Injury Limits Philadelphia Eagles' Wide Receivers

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith missed a training‑camp practice on Aug. 4 due to a hamstring injury, and rookie Makai Lemon was sidelined with the same issue the following day. Team officials said the injuries appear minor and are not expected to become long‑term problems, so the Eagles do not view them as a serious setback.

Smith, now the primary target after the trade of AJ Brown, remains a key piece of the offense. The team expects both players to return to practice within a week, ahead of the first preseason game on Aug. 15. In their absence, other receivers—including Dontayvion Wicks, Hollywood Brown and veteran Britain Covey—have been given first‑team reps.

Coaches are monitoring the hamstring injuries closely but are confident the players will be ready for the regular season start in September.
