DEWALT launches Tool Connect Partner Network to combat theft

DEWALT, a Stanley Black & Decker brand, has announced the launch of the DEWALT Tool Connect Partner Network. This ecosystem integrates various technology providers to create a comprehensive asset tracking solution designed for the construction industry.

The initiative aims to address significant equipment theft on U.S. construction sites, where annual losses are estimated between $300 million and $1 billion. Current recovery rates for stolen assets are reported to be low, often falling below 25% and sometimes even below 7%.

The network builds upon existing DEWALT solutions, such as the Tool Connect app and the DEWALT Construction Asset Gateway. By partnering with companies like Geotab, Trackunit, and BoxLock, the system leverages external infrastructure to act as additional detection nodes, allowing for the location of tools and equipment across various fleets and storage units.
