Dewi Lake named Gloucester Rugby captain for 2026-27 season

Gloucester Rugby has appointed Wales captain Dewi Lake as the club captain for the 2026-27 season. The 27-year-old hooker joined the English Premiership side from the Ospreys following the expiration of his contract.

Lake, who has earned 34 caps for Wales and captained the national side 22 times, will be supported by vice-captains Jac Morgan, a fellow Wales international, and England centre Seb Atkinson.

Head coach George Skivington stated that Lake’s leadership experience was a primary factor in the decision, which followed consultations with the playing squad and coaching staff.
