Dexter series celebrates 20 years with new season announcement

The television series Dexter is celebrating its 20th anniversary, marked by the upcoming release of its second season, Dexter: Resurrection. The new season is scheduled to premiere on Paramount+ on October 30 and will consist of ten episodes.

In the new installment, Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter Morgan, who is depicted navigating a midlife crisis while facing new threats. The plot involves Dexter contending with a new serial killer known as the Five Borough Killer, played by Dan Stevens, who is terrorizing New York. The season also features the return of Jack Alcott as Dexter's son, Harrison, and introduces a high-profile cast including Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, and Brian Cox.

The franchise, which originally premiered on Showtime in 2006, follows the life of a blood spatter analyst for the Miami police who leads a double life as a vigilante serial killer. The series has maintained popularity through its exploration of the protagonist's internal monologues and his adherence to a code established by his adoptive father, Harry.
