Deyna Castellanos joins Tigres Femenil in Mexico
Venezuelan striker Deyna Castellanos has officially joined Tigres Femenil in Mexico, signing a two-season contract. The 27-year-old captain of the Venezuelan national team arrives as a free agent following a mutual contract termination with the Portland Thorns of the NWSL.
Castellanos, who will wear the number 10 jersey previously held by Jenni Hermoso, arrives in Monterrey to bolster the attacking lineup of the Liga MX Femenil leaders. During her tenure with Portland, she appeared in 33 matches, scoring five goals and providing one assist.
In addition to the football news, Venezuelan beauty pageant participants are making headlines. Gabriela Vegas has been named an official candidate for Miss Venezuela 2026, continuing a family legacy that includes her mother, Daniela Medina, and her grandmother. Meanwhile, Leinys Rivera has been designated to represent Venezuela at the Miss Turismo Universo 2026 competition in Beirut, Lebanon.
