Dez Milhas Garoto race to feature elite athletes in Espírito Santo
The 35th edition of the Dez Milhas Garoto race will take place this Sunday, September 27, running from Vitória to Vila Velha in Espírito Santo, Brazil. The event features an elite international field, including Kenyan champion Nicolas Kiptoo Kosgei, alongside top Brazilian runners like Gleison da Silva Santos and Giovani dos Santos.
More than 20,000 runners are expected to participate. The race starts at 6:30 AM at Praia de Camburi and concludes at the Garoto Chocolate Factory. To accommodate the event, significant traffic disruptions and road closures will be implemented in both cities starting Saturday, with major closures affecting the Terceira Ponte and several key avenues including Dante Michelini and Saturnino Brito.
To commemorate the 35th anniversary, Garoto has released a six-episode web series documenting the history of the race through the stories of long-time participants, employees, and local residents.
