De’Zhaun Stribling shines in 49ers preseason debut
Rookie wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling emerged as a standout performer during the San Francisco 49ers’ preseason opener, a 19-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Stribling caught seven passes for 63 yards in less than a half, including a notable 32-yard reception and an 11-yard contested catch that required a sideline review. Head coach Kyle Shanahan praised the rookie’s execution and physicality.
Despite Stribling’s success, the game saw injuries to key players. Backup quarterback Kurtis Rourke left the game in the second quarter with a rib injury. Additionally, the 49ers' training camp continues to manage several absences, including Christian McCaffrey and Nick Bosa, who remained sidelined during recent practices.
Following the preseason debut, the 49ers' training camp has focused on depth and positional competition. While Stribling received praise for his preseason play, recent practice sessions have seen veterans like Trenton Irwin receiving significant repetitions with the starting unit.
