DFB awards Fritz-Walter Medals to top German football talents

The German Football Association (DFB) has awarded the 2026 Fritz-Walter Medals to outstanding youth players for their performances during the 2025/2026 season. The awards recognize top talents in the U17 and U19 categories.

In the women’s category, Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Janne Krumme received the silver medal. Krumme, 19, was a key figure in the German U19 national team’s run to the European Championship final and played a significant role in helping Eintracht Frankfurt maintain its position in the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga.

Among the male recipients, Francis Onyeka won the gold medal in the U19 category. Other notable winners include Cassiano Kiala from FC Bayern, who earned silver, and Louis Lemke from HSV, who received bronze. In the U17 category, Kennet Eichhorn was highlighted for his development at Hertha BSC. The awards continue a tradition established in 2005 to honor the most promising young footballers in Germany.
