DFB denies TSV Havelse request to move home matches to Eilenriedestadion

The German Football Association (DFB) has denied TSV Havelse’s request to move its home matches to the Eilenriedestadion. The decision stems from missing safety and structural documentation regarding additional stands, specifically concerning fire protection and wind load stability.

As a result, the newly promoted club must continue playing its home games at the Heinz von Heiden Arena. This includes upcoming matches against SV Waldhof Mannheim, SG Sonnenhof Großaspach, and Fortuna Köln. The club has noted that renting the larger arena is significantly more expensive, costing roughly twice as much as the Eilenriedestadion.

Martin Kind, a prominent figure in German football, has criticized the DFB’s decision, describing the association's decision-making processes as acting like “cartels.” Kind warned that the high costs of playing in the larger arena could lead to “economic suicide” for the club and suggested that legal action might be necessary. Hannover 96 has expressed its intention to continue supporting Havelse despite the logistical challenges of sharing the Heinz von Heiden Arena.
