Germany's football governing body, the DFB, has imposed heavy penalties on Dynamo Dresden and Hertha BSC following a violent incident at their 2. Bundesliga match on 4 April. The match was halted for about 20 minutes after large amounts of pyrotechnics were launched from both fan sections, a Hertha banner was stolen and fights broke out, prompting police intervention.

The DFB sports court ordered Hertha to pay a fine of €152,000 and Dynamo €91,200. In addition, parts of Dynamo's standing fan blocks will be closed for the next two home games, with one of those matches placed under a conditional suspension until summer 2027. Dynamo announced it will appeal the ruling, arguing the collective spectator ban is excessive.

The DFB judge emphasized that using pyrotechnics as a weapon against people is intolerable and will not be excused.
