DGDC conducts community mediation workshop in San Cristóbal

The General Directorate of Community Development (DGDC) conducted a workshop titled ‘Leadership, Conflict Management, and Community Mediation’ in San Cristóbal. The initiative aimed to strengthen citizens' abilities to resolve disputes and promote a culture of peace within their communities.

Organized in coordination with local neighborhood boards, the training was led by a team of behavioral professionals headed by clinical psychologist Eladio Hernández. Participants received practical tools for improving leadership, effective communication, and mediation techniques. The sessions also covered emotional intelligence, empathy, and consensus-building to strengthen the social fabric.

Modesto Guzmán, Director General of the DGDC, emphasized that true development occurs when community members are willing to listen, dialogue, and work together to find collective solutions to common problems.
