DGFT to launch faceless trade facilitation system

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is establishing a new Central Processing Department (CPD) to implement a faceless and paperless trade facilitation system. Located in Delhi’s Central Licensing Area, the unit aims to process trade-related applications centrally to enhance transparency and reduce processing times for exporters and importers.

The system is proposed to be launched to the nation during the second half of October 2026. To staff the new department, 53 officials and employees from the DGFT headquarters and regional authorities have been deployed or transferred, including five Joint DGFTs, 10 Deputy DGFTs, and seven Assistant DGFTs. These officials are scheduled to undergo orientation and training in early October before assuming their roles at the CPD.
