Dhaka police arrest nine suspects in Dhanmondi armed robbery

Police in Dhaka have arrested nine members of a gang involved in an armed robbery in Dhanmondi, where 3.8 million BDT was stolen from a man named Khoshed Alam on August 30. The incident occurred in front of Dingi Restaurant on road number 12.

Among those arrested are three retired military personnel and individuals with previous ties to law enforcement agencies. Authorities recovered a locally made revolver with four rounds of ammunition and a total of 575,350 BDT from the suspects.

The arrests were made following a pursuit by Dhanmondi Model police and local citizens, leading to subsequent raids in areas including South Khan, Mohammadpur, and Baitul Mukarram. Cases have been filed at the Dhanmondi Model Police Station under robbery and arms acts. Operations continue to apprehend remaining suspects and recover the stolen funds.
