Dhaka University students protest government job recruitment changes

Leaders of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) held a protest march at Dhaka University to oppose changes to government job recruitment processes. The protesters are specifically targeting a proposal to reduce marks in written examinations for government jobs in grades 11–20 while increasing the weight of oral viva examinations.

During a rally, DUCSU leaders expressed concerns that increasing the importance of viva exams would facilitate nepotism, corruption, and the use of political influence in hiring. They demanded the cancellation of such measures to protect merit-based recruitment and prevent the exploitation of unemployed youth.
