Dhanbad: Decapitated body of unidentified woman found in forest

An unidentified woman's decapitated body was discovered in a forest near the Chataniya Bridge in the Baliapur police station area of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, on Friday. The victim's head and torso were found in separate locations, with the head reportedly discovered inside a plastic bag.

Local residents expressed suspicion of ritualistic human sacrifice after finding incense sticks and various ritual items at the scene. While villagers have raised these concerns, Baliapur police have stated they are investigating all possible angles and have not confirmed any link to ritualistic killings.

The victim is estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old. Authorities have summoned Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and dog squad teams from Ranchi to collect evidence. Police are currently conducting inquiries in nearby villages to identify the woman and await the results of a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
