Dhanush's film 'Thamizh Murugan' unveiled with first‑look teaser

Actor Dhanush and filmmaker Vetrimaaran announced their next collaboration, a Tamil-language film titled "Thamizh Murugan". The project adapts writer Arivumathi's historical novel and is produced by Wunderbar Films with music composed by Sai Abhyankkar. A first‑look teaser released on Dhanush's Instagram shows him riding an elephant and holding the vel, the sacred spear of Lord Murugan, against a battlefield backdrop. The caption described the deity as “The Eternal Protector, Warrior, THE KING & LEADER of the Thamizh people and lands.”

The announcement came amid online debate sparked by a rival Jr NTR‑Trivikram project also based on Lord Murugan, prompting discussions about timing and cultural representation. Dhanush also confirmed he will appear in the action drama "OM" alongside Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela and Naseeruddin Shah, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy.
