Dhar road accident kills three family members
A speeding trailer truck struck a motorcycle on the Lebad-Nayagaon four-lane highway near the Pitgara intersection in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, resulting in the deaths of three family members.
The victims, identified as Rahul (35), his wife Pooja (30), and their 13-year-old daughter Suman, died at the scene. Their other daughter, Shivani, sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized for treatment. The family was reportedly traveling from Bada Kathodiya village to their farm in Kherwas for garlic sowing when the accident occurred.
Following the collision, local villagers staged a sit-in protest on the highway, causing a traffic standstill for approximately two and a half hours. Protesters demanded legal action against the truck driver and improved safety measures at the intersection. Local administration officials, including SDM Priyanka Mimrot, met with the protesters and provided assurances that strict action would be taken and safety measures would be implemented. The blockade was subsequently lifted, and police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
