Dharmendra Pradhan criticizes Rahul Gandhi over student politics

BJP leader and former Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan criticized Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi following his visit to Indore. Pradhan accused Gandhi of using a ‘system versus student’ narrative to turn complex educational challenges into political slogans.

Pradhan highlighted government initiatives to improve higher education, noting that the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) rose from 23.7% in 2014-15 to 30% in 2023-24. He cited the PM-Vidyalaxmi scheme for collateral-free education loans and the PM-USHA scheme for infrastructure development as key advancements.

Regarding examination integrity, Pradhan stated that the government has transitioned toward computer-based testing to reduce errors associated with paper-based exams. He also mentioned that a specific law was enacted in 2024 to combat exam malpractice, which is being strengthened with stricter punishments and fast-track courts to protect students' futures.
