Dharmendra Pradhan seeks NH-55 expansion and infrastructure upgrades in Sambalpur
Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan has requested Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to prioritize infrastructure upgrades in the Sambalpur parliamentary constituency to support growing industrial and mining activities.
Pradhan’s proposal includes widening the Sambalpur-Cuttack NH-55 from four lanes to six lanes and adding two-lane service roads on both sides to improve traffic flow and safety. He also called for the construction of four underpasses at Jindal Road, Jarpada, Jerang, and Charmal to protect pedestrians and locals from heavy commercial and mining vehicle traffic.
Additionally, Pradhan requested the construction of a flyover at the Sambalpur City Railway Station intersection on NH-53 to address a identified ‘black spot’ where high volumes of railway passengers cross the highway daily.
