Dhaulpur: Four dead after Eco van plunges into waterlogged ditch

A fatal road accident occurred near Phulpur village in the Mania police station area of Dhaulpur district, Rajasthan, on Saturday. An Eco van carrying women and children, who were traveling to visit a temple from the Sampau subdivision, lost control while navigating a waterlogged road due to heavy rainfall. The vehicle plunged into a deep, water-filled pond or ditch.

The accident resulted in the deaths of four people, including three children and one woman. Approximately seven to eight others were injured. Local villagers responded immediately to the cries for help, diving into the water to rescue passengers trapped inside the vehicle. The injured were transported to the Mania Community Health Center (CHC) via ambulance and private vehicles.

Local police arrived at the scene to take custody of the bodies for post-mortem examinations and are working to identify all victims. Residents have expressed concerns regarding administrative negligence, noting that heavy rains have caused significant waterlogging on roads without adequate preventative measures from authorities.
