Dhawal Shumsher Rana meets former King Gyanendra Shah

Dhawal Shumsher Rana, a former General Secretary of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has met with former King Gyanendra Shah to discuss Nepal’s current political and social situation. Following his departure from the RPP, Rana has applied to the Election Commission to register a new political entity named the Jai Nepal Party.

During their meeting, Rana informed the former King of the new party’s intention to build public support for the restoration of the monarchy and the establishment of a Hindu state. Shah reportedly encouraged Rana to “move forward by bringing everyone together” and wished him well.

The formation of the Jai Nepal Party follows the collapse of a previous political alliance between Rana and activist Durga Prasai. Although the two had signed an 11-point agreement aimed at promoting a Hindu kingdom and addressing issues like dual citizenship, the partnership dissolved due to disagreements over leadership structures and decision-making authority.
