DHL and Vinted launch automated locker-to-locker shipping across Germany
DHL and the second‑hand marketplace Vinted are expanding parcel delivery through Germany's network of Packstations, Poststations and the neutral DeinFach lockers. The new service lets a seller drop a package into a locker and the buyer retrieve it from another locker using a code shown in the Vinted app, eliminating the need for prior registration of either party.
Around 41,000 pickup points are already available, and the network is slated to grow from about 18,500 locations to over 30,000 by 2030. The initiative targets casual C2C sellers, reducing last‑mile costs and streamlining handling of low‑value items such as used clothing. It also aligns with upcoming platform‑tax‑transparency obligations for commercial sellers. Vinted projects a 2025 marketplace volume of €10.8 billion, a 47 % increase year on year.
