DHL expands healthcare cold chain corridors to Asia

DHL Global Forwarding has expanded its Health Logistics Cold Chain Network by adding six bi-directional air corridors linking North America and Europe to pharmaceutical hubs in Asia.

The new routes include connections from Liège and Brussels to Shanghai and Singapore, as well as routes from Cincinnati to Singapore, Tokyo Narita, and Seoul Incheon. These corridors are designed to provide pharmaceutical shippers with flexible routing and consistent transit for temperature-sensitive goods such as vaccines, biologics, and clinical trial materials.

To maintain quality control, DHL utilizes Boeing 777 freighters equipped with three separate temperature compartments. The company also employs thermal blanket solutions and phase change materials to manage critical quality parameters throughout the transport process. This expansion responds to increasing demand for reliable connectivity between major healthcare manufacturing and distribution markets.
