DHL expands healthcare logistics capabilities in Singapore

DHL is expanding its healthcare logistics footprint in Singapore through two major initiatives. First, DHL Global Forwarding will establish the DHL Singapore Coldchain Hub at Changi Airport’s Changi Nexus One. Targeted for completion by the end of 2027, the 3,047-square-meter facility will be designed to Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards to handle temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and life sciences cargo. The hub will feature GDP-qualified cold rooms and real-time temperature monitoring to maintain an unbroken cold chain for shipments requiring temperatures between 2°C-8°C and 15°C-25°C.

In a separate move, DHL Express Singapore has partnered with the Life Science Incubator (LSI) to support the local biotech ecosystem. This collaboration focuses on providing logistics support to startups and research teams at the LSI@Elementum facility. DHL will offer specialized capabilities, including ultra-low temperature packaging capable of protecting substances at minus 196°C, and its DHL Medical Express service for transporting biological substances under the UN3373 Category B classification. The partnership aims to facilitate the movement of clinical trial materials and biologics within Singapore’s life-sciences clusters.
