DHL expands service points in Germany with new shop and indoor station test

DHL is expanding its service presence in Germany through new retail locations and experimental hardware. In Schwerte, a new DHL parcel shop has opened within the ‘Men’s World by Moke Style’ store at Postplatz 8. This location offers shipping, returns, and ‘Postfiliale Direkt’ services, allowing customers to have shipments delivered directly to the shop for pickup.

In Isselburg, a new type of indoor DHL post station has been identified within a REWE supermarket. This unit features a slim control column with a touch display, payment terminal, and headphone jack for accessibility, paired with a separate parcel box. The design suggests a potential test of indoor-specific hardware that is more cost-effective than traditional outdoor stations, marking a possible return to the parcel box concept.
