DHL Express reports 16% growth in Asia Pacific heavyweight shipments

DHL Express reported a 16% increase in its Time Definite International Weight per Day growth across the Asia Pacific region, excluding China, between January and July 2026. This growth follows the introduction of the company’s Heavy Weight Express (HWX) service in the first half of 2026.

The surge in heavyweight shipments is driven by sectors including automotive, engineering and manufacturing, and high-value technology-related cargo, which together account for two-thirds of the segment's total weight.

According to Ken Lee, CEO for Asia Pacific at DHL Express, the trend reflects a shift in how businesses manage supply chain risks. Companies are increasingly utilizing express logistics to move heavy machinery, industrial equipment, and critical components to gain greater agility and certainty amidst trade disruptions and manufacturing bottlenecks.
