DHL Global Forwarding acquires Uruguay's Aero Cargas

DHL Global Forwarding has reached an agreement to acquire Aero Cargas, a logistics and freight transport company based in Uruguay. This acquisition marks DHL's first direct operation in Uruguay, which the company views as an increasingly important logistics hub for regional and international trade.

Aero Cargas has served as an exclusive agent for DHL Global Forwarding since 1993. The Montevideo-based firm specializes in air, sea, and land freight, supply chain management, and industrial projects. It also possesses specialized capabilities in the life sciences and healthcare sectors, having notably participated in the distribution of over 95% of COVID-19 vaccines in Uruguay.

Erik Meade, CEO of LATAM DHL Global Forwarding, stated that the acquisition strengthens the company's presence in Latin America by combining local market expertise with DHL's global network.
