DHL Global Forwarding acquires Uruguay’s Aero Cargas S.A

DHL Global Forwarding has acquired the Uruguayan logistics and freight forwarding company Aero Cargas S.A. This acquisition marks DHL's first direct operational presence in Uruguay, establishing a strategic foothold in a country that serves as a gateway connecting Mercosur, North America, and international markets.

Aero Cargas S.A. brings 58 years of experience in air and ocean freight, land transport, multimodal services, and pharmaceutical logistics. The move is intended to strengthen DHL’s capabilities in Life Sciences & Healthcare, industrial project logistics, and Free Trade Zone operations.

The expansion aligns with DHL Group’s 2030 Strategy to invest in high-growth markets and evolving trade corridors. By leveraging Uruguay’s deep-water infrastructure and Free Port framework, DHL aims to provide more resilient logistics solutions amidst global trade route disruptions and shifting supply chains in Latin America.
