DHL lifts 2026 EBIT forecast, shares jump to multi‑year highs
The logistics group DHL (formerly Deutsche Post) raised its 2026 earnings‑before‑interest‑and‑taxes (EBIT) guidance from above €6.2 billion to more than €6.5 billion after reporting a strong second‑quarter performance. Operating profit rose 29 % year‑on‑year to €1.85 billion, driven mainly by the express business, while revenue grew by over 10 % in the three months to the end of June.
Analyst Alexia Dogani of JPMorgan noted that “DHL exceeded market expectations by a fifth” and saw further upside potential even after discounting the Iran‑war related air‑freight capacity constraints. The company’s shares surged up to 3 % to €57.38 – their highest level since January 2022 – and closed 1.7 % higher at €56.68, making DHL one of the best‑performing DAX stocks. The DAX overall fell 1.4 %, while DHL’s cumulative year‑to‑date gain reached roughly 21 %.
