DHS targets trucking school fraud amid controversy

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has initiated a crackdown on fraudulent truck driving schools accused of issuing commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) to undocumented immigrants and individuals lacking English proficiency. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has also launched an official tip line to report CDL and immigration fraud.

The administration's actions have sparked significant political backlash following a DHS social media post featuring a meme that targeted the Sikh community. Governor Gavin Newsom, Senator Adam Schiff, and Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed condemned the post, describing it as racist propaganda and profiling that demonizes specific communities based on names and backgrounds.
