Dhyan Badri Temple highlighted as sacred site in Uttarakhand

The Dhyan Badri Temple, located in Pandukeshwar between Joshimath and Badrinath in Uttarakhand, is highlighted as one of the sacred Panch Badri temples. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, featuring a four-armed black stone idol seated in a meditative posture (Padmasana).

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared a video of the temple on social media, encouraging devotees to visit the ancient and holy site in Chamoli. He noted that the meditative form of Lord Vishnu at this location provides spiritual peace to worshippers.

According to mythological beliefs, the site is significant as King Pandu performed intense penance here to atone for his sins. Additionally, Urvarishi, the son of King Puranjay, is said to have attained Lord Vishnu through rigorous meditation in the Urgam Valley, leading to the deity's manifestation in this meditative form.
