Di Cavalcanti exhibition to debut in Goiânia

Cerrado Galeria in Goiânia will host its first exhibition of works by Brazilian modernist artist Di Cavalcanti starting September 26. Titled ‘Di Cavalcanti: Lírico, brasileiro, modernista’, the free exhibition features paintings and drawings produced between 1925 and 1972, covering five decades of the artist's career. His work frequently explores Brazilian popular culture and daily life.

Simultaneously, the gallery will present ‘Anímica e estelar’, the first individual exhibition for contemporary artist Walter Pimentel. Pimentel’s works, created between 2025 and 2026 using various media including gouache, oil paint, and expanded foam, explore themes of memory, imagination, and spirituality.

The event is supported by Sesc Goiás, which aims to democratize cultural access. The Di Cavalcanti exhibition is a significant event for the region, as he was a key figure in the 1922 Modern Art Week and a major representative of Brazilian modernism.
