Dia appoints Jonathan Muir as non-executive chairman

The board of directors of the supermarket chain Dia has appointed Jonathan Muir as non-executive chairman, replacing Benjamin J. Babcock. Muir, who currently serves as the CEO of LetterOne, joins the board via co-optation as a non-executive director to fill the vacancy created by Babcock’s resignation.

Babcock resigned from his position as chairman and board member after leaving LetterOne, the investment group that controls 77.7% of Dia’s capital. During his tenure, Babcock oversaw the company’s strategic reorientation, operational recovery, and a refinancing completed in December 2024.

Muir’s appointment is intended to ensure continuity in the supervision of Dia’s strategic objectives and reinforce the commitment of LetterOne to the company. The appointment will be subject to ratification and reelection at the next general shareholders' meeting. Following this change, 89% of the nine board members remain independent of LetterOne, and the board maintains a 67% female representation.
