Diablo 4 adds ultra‑rare Trace of Echoes item and expands Seed of Hatred resource system

Blizzard's Diablo 4 now features the Trace of Echoes, a quest‑item introduced with the Lord of Hatred expansion. The item triggers the Echoing Hatred arena, a last‑stand mode with up to 120 increasingly difficult waves that rewards high‑level loot and the coveted mythic Horadric seals. Because the Trace of Echoes drops extremely rarely, some players have found multiple copies while most have never seen it, prompting frustration over the season's difficulty and the €40 cost of the expansion.

In the same game, the Fields of Hatred – dedicated PvP zones – contain Seeds of Hatred dropped by monsters, defeated players, and special events. Players collect these seeds and purify them at the Altar of Extraction, converting them into Red Dust. Red Dust can then be spent on cosmetic armor, weapon skins, mount trophies and consumables, but the purification process marks the player as hostile to all others, making it a high‑risk, high‑reward activity.
