Diablo 4 faces player backlash over mythic item restrictions and hardcore mode issues
Players of Diablo 4 are voicing strong criticism of the new mythic unique item system introduced in Season 14. After 100 hours of play, the loot pool yields only a handful of traditional mythic items, while most upgrades become ordinary uniques. A crafting limit now allows a character to equip only one self‑crafted mythic item, making it nearly impossible for many players to obtain iconic gear before the season ends.
The game’s Hardcore mode is also drawing ire. Permanent death means a character is lost forever, but many players report deaths caused by unexplained damage, server synchronization errors and obscure on‑death effects. With no option to transfer a dead Hardcore character to a Softcore realm, the mode is seen as overly punitive and technically flawed, leading numerous veterans to abandon it.
