Diablo 4 launches Season of Death Awakening with Mythic Unique overhaul and Solo Self Found mode

The new Season of Death Awakening for Diablo 4 begins on June 30. Players follow a new storyline in which a Death Cult emerges after Mephisto’s defeat, undertaking the quest “A Gospel of Despair” to stop dark rituals. The season adds Pandemonium Ruptures – magical rifts that spawn waves of enemies – and rewards players who keep them active. A repeatable boss, the Corrupted Reaper, appears after progressing through the questline, offering top‑tier loot.

A major gameplay change is Mythic Unique 3.0: any Unique item can become a Mythic Unique with 30 % stronger powers, maximum stat rolls and ancient quality. Solo Self‑Found mode launches, prohibiting trading and party play. The Tower leaves beta, leaderboards reward the top players, and quality‑of‑life tweaks raise gold and obol caps and improve crafting. A free Warlock trial runs from June 30 to July 7, and an Overwatch crossover provides skins and a kiriko fox‑spirit companion. The season’s preload (1.112/2.12) is available for PC and console players.
