Blizzard patches Diablo 4 Season 14 to fix mythic‑unique drop bug
Blizzard released Patch 3.1.1 for Diablo 4 Season 14 (the “Season of Awakened Death”) to address a critical bug that stopped mythic‑unique items from dropping from certain sources, notably Hideout bosses. The update also lowered the crafting cost for mythic upgrades in the Horadri Cube from five to four “Fragments of Madness”, increased fragment drops from the Corrupted Soul Reaper and the repeatable “Hope Shimmer” reward, and guaranteed at least one high‑tier key in the Blood Toll chambers. Additionally, the overall drop chance for mythic items was raised and the probability that a naturally dropped mythic becomes an “Iconic Mythic” was increased.
Despite these fixes, players still report persistent issues: the “crafted” limitation still allows only one self‑crafted mythic unique to be equipped at a time, affix rolls on mythic uniques remain largely random and often unsatisfying, and the drop rate for mythic‑unique items overall remains very low. Blizzard’s community manager has confirmed ongoing work on these remaining problems.
