Diageo unveils cost‑cutting plan and names Sujay Wasan as Asia‑Pacific president
Diageo said it will implement a multi‑year cost programme aimed at restoring organic revenue growth to a low‑single‑digit annual rate by fiscal 2028/29. After a 2 % decline in sales and a 3 % drop in total revenue to $19.6 billion, the company expects the efficiency drive to lift operating profit in the current year and set a path for modest top‑line expansion.
In parallel, Diageo appointed former Procter & Gamble executive Sujay Wasan as President of its Asia‑Pacific business, effective 15 August. Wasan succeeds John O’Keeffe and will join the Executive Committee, reporting to CEO Dave Lewis, who said, “We’re delighted that Sujay will be joining Diageo. He is a global leader with a proven track record of consistently delivering breakthrough business results.”
