Diamante hosts second Festival of Arts and Cultures

The second edition of the Festival delle Arti e delle Culture (FAC) recently concluded in Diamante, Italy. The event focused on urban art, the preservation of historical heritage, and community engagement.

A central highlight was the creation of a new mural titled ‘Luna Madre’ by Turin-based artist Vesod, curated by Gulìa Urbana. Additionally, artists Angelo Aligia, Francesco Minuti, and Francesco Cirillo worked on restoring historical murals dating back to 1981 to revitalize the town’s cultural identity.

The festival also emphasized youth involvement through guided tours for students from IIS Diamante-Praia with local councilor Antonino Perrotta, and artistic workshops for children. A key discussion, the FAC Talk ‘Nel tempo e nello spazio,’ brought together representatives from OSA Festival, Appartengo, and Gulìa Urbana to discuss the relationship between public art, festivals, and regional development in Southern Italy.
