Diamante receives 2 million euros for police housing
The Municipality of Diamante has been granted 2 million euros by the Calabria Region to construct new housing for the State Police. The funding, formalized via a decree on October 30, is intended to support the Cirella Police Commissionerate.
The project, located in the Cammarotea area, involves the demolition of an abandoned former school building to make way for a new police guest house. This facility will provide essential lodging and logistical services for police personnel, aimed at improving their operational conditions and strengthening the presence of law enforcement in the territory.
Mayor Achille Ordine stated that the funding is the result of administrative efforts initiated shortly after his administration took office in June 2024. Beyond supporting law enforcement, the project is expected to contribute to urban redevelopment by reclaiming an area currently occupied by a derelict structure.
