Diamantino expands free water aerobics and swimming classes

The Diamantino City Hall, through its Municipal Secretariats of Sports and Leisure and Health, is expanding its free physical activity offerings. Starting September 1, water aerobics classes will be available at the Darcy Capistrano Olympic Mini Center in the Novo Diamantino neighborhood on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

These new sessions complement existing classes held at the Mário Ferreira Mendes Sports Training Center in the Buriti neighborhood. The water aerobics program is designed for adults aged 18 and older, providing a low-impact option for muscle strengthening, mobility, and balance, particularly for those with joint pain or recovery needs from illnesses such as chikungunya.

To enroll, participants must first undergo an evaluation at their local Family Health Strategy (ESF) unit to receive medical clearance before registering with the Municipal Secretariat of Sports and Leisure. Additionally, the city continues to accept registrations for free children's swimming lessons for ages 6 to 16 at the AABB.
