Diamantino mourns cultural guardian Antônia Ferreira da Silva

Antônia Ferreira da Silva, known affectionately as Toinha, passed away on August 31 at the age of 86. A prominent figure in the cultural and religious life of Diamantino, she was recognized as a guardian of local traditions.

Toinha was deeply involved in community celebrations, including the Percorridas das Bandeiras do Divino Espírito Santo and the Imaculada Conceição, where she served as a flag bearer. She was also an expert dancer of Siriri and São Gonçalo, helping to preserve these traditional folk expressions through generations.

In addition to her participation in religious festivals, she contributed to the municipal project Grupo Viver Legal, sharing her knowledge and experience of local customs with the community.
